Meet the Makers
Ashley & David Cole- Glass Artists
We’re NC natives who moved to Maine for a corporate job. After living 2 blocks from a stained glass studio for a few years, we finally decided to take a beginners 6 week class. After that we were both hooked. Together we’ve grown our passion into a small business.
We work in both the stained glass copper foil method and in kiln fired fusible glass. We make stained glass sun-catchers, panels, lamps and 3D art. In fusible glass we offer dichroic jewelry, home decor and personalized art. All of our work is custom designed. We also do lead came framing and custom wood framing. In the past few years we’ve added precut glass shapes, stained glass patterns and custom stained glass jigs for other glass artists to use in their creations.
Our name comes from our time in Maine. We believe it was fate that took us 1,000 miles away from our home and landed us in such close proximity to a glass studio. Glass has moved past a hobby to a true calling. We both feel it is our true purpose on this earth, to create timeless art, together as a family. Blue Hill is a beautiful town in Maine we visited in route to Acadia National Park. We feel the name pays homage to Maine and also the blue rolling hills in our new home in the foothills of North Carolina.
We hope others see the eye for detail and love we put into each piece.
