Prism Pro Stained Glass 3D Jig Tool for Making Prisms - Box Maker

Regular price $80.00 $0.00 Unit price per

Stop getting frustrated with taping your pieces together. With this tool you can create regular prisms as well as many other more complex shapes.

Base is approximately 7 3/4” x 5 7/8” but can accommodate larger projects with the glass overhanging on each side. I’ve successfully made a box 12” long on Prism Pro. I would not recommend for larger projects. For extra large projects please private message for options.

This easy to use tool comes with a base and 10 angle cards (2 for each 5 angles listed below):

-2 triangle cards for 60° angles(for equilateral triangle based prisms)

-2 square cards for 90° angles (for square or rectangle based prisms)

-2 pentagon cards for 108° angles (for pentagon based prisms)

-2 hexagon cards for 120° angles (for hexagon based prisms)

-2 octagon cards for 135° angles (for octagon based prisms)

Cards are adjustable. Use two cards of the same shape/angle to cradle two pieces of glass. Cards can be slid far apart or close together depending on the size of your piece. Tack pieces together, then solder the seam. Be sure to not stack glass pieces but instead create a V shape. A metal rod can be used to fill the V shape if needed, but not necessary.  Spin shape on Prism Pro to continue adding sides. Then take off the jig or use square card to add the base(s).

Regular Prisms have a base shape and rectangular or square sides. If you want to make a 8 sided box, make an octagon base and 8 rectangles or squares. Use the octagon card to assemble the SIDES together. Solder inside seams as you go. Then attach the octagon base and solder outside seams.

It does not include any patterns since the basic prism shapes will be different based on your design. This tool can be used with any jewelry box stained glass pattern book you already have. Original patterns by Blue Hill Glass will be added monthly and are available for an additional fee in our shop.
